Lakes and Reservoirs in Jakarta will Be Revitalized Gradually

For the sake of clean and healthy water, Jakarta Provincial Government will revitalize the lake and reservoir gradually.

It's triggered by the system of household waste management that has not been well arranged

Assistant for Jakarta Development and Environment Secretary, Gamal Sinurat said, from 77 lakes and reservoirs in Jakarta, most of the water is currently contaminated with household waste and garbage.

"It's triggered by the system of household waste management that has not been well arranged, until the water flows into the lake and reservoir," he expressed, Tuesday (2/27).

City Monitors Lake and Reservoir Dredging

To improve its water quality, he continued, the infrastructure of waste disposal in household dwellings must be done.

Gradually, revitalization of lakes and reservoirs will also be done, such as in eastern Sunter Lake.

"Therefore Jakarta Provincial Government is about to revitalize the lake and reservoir, including intensifying the importance of the IPAL infrastructure in the household," he stated.
